Will Doc Martin make it up the Aisle?



The grumpy GP, played by Martin Clunes, has even found a church that will take him.

Known as the “cathedral of the moor”, the church will star on prime-time ITV this autumn after being declared a suitable venue for Doc Martin’s wedding.

But you may have seen it before – as it appeared on the first ill-fated occasion that the Doc tried to marry his teacher bride.

Doc Martin Gets Green Light for Series 6



ITV have given the green light for a sixth series of Doc Martin.

Martin Clunes will reprise his role as Dr Martin Ellingham for a further 8 part run expected to air in autumn 2013.

Filming will begin next spring on location in Port Isaac, with all existing cast members expected to return to the series.

Clunes said: “I’m thrilled to be going back to the beautiful North Cornish coast to shoot series six of Doc Martin.

“Our challenge this season will be to force Louisa and the doctor to live together with Baby James which as far as I can see has disaster written all over it. And then there’s the dog and Dame Eileen but not necessarily in that order!”

An old-ish interview....

"Doc Martin," the globally popular British series about an antisocial big-city surgeon working as a general practitioner among boundary-disrespecting neighbors in a Cornwall fishing village, has just begun its fifth season. Over the last couple of years it has become a staple feature of American public broadcasting -- the second episode of the new season premieres locally tonight on KCET -- and has been widely available online, offered free to subscribers of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus. Acorn Media, which has released the previous four seasons on DVD, will add the fifth in June.

Doc Martin to Make Series 6 Housecalls in 2013

Bad news for patients, but good news for fans of Dr. Martin Ellingham came Monday with the announcement by ITV that the Martin Clunes series, Doc Martin, has been renewed for a sixth series comprised of eight episodes. According to the ITV Press Centre, all regular cast members will all but take over the fictional town of Portwenn when filming begins next spring on location in the coastal town of Port Isaac.

Will the Doctor and Louisa Finally get Married?

If you're a fan of British television, chances are you've discovered the quirky little ITV series Doc Martin. The series, which stars Martin Clunes, focuses on the titular, curmudgeonly, big-city doctor, who serves as the General Practitioner of the small fishing village Portwenn. He hates it there, and only finds a few people even tolerable -- his aunt, and schoolteacher Louisa Glasson (Caroline Catz), with whom he has been in an on-and-off relationship since the beginning of the series.
